Visual Thinking Workshop.

This workshop took place on April 11 in the subject Consolidation of Financial Statements of the Faculty of Economics and Business (Gipuzkoa Section) of the UPV/EHU. This activity is included in the analysis of non-financial and diversity information published by companies in their sustainability reports and was taught in both Basque and Spanish. On the other hand, this dynamic is aligned with the SDGs, which allows students to get closer to another reality that is not treated in the degree. On the other hand, Visual Thinking was chosen as a tool because

  • It helps the understanding of concepts given that, by having to draw students must be able to synthesize and express themselves in a creative way.
  • It encourages active listening.
  • It goes beyond the limitations of verbal language.
  • It makes students stop, observe and understand what they are doing, in order to develop critical thinking.

The speaker was Miryam Artola Dendaluze, visual facilitator and founder, Creative and CEO of Muxote Potolo Bat (www.muxotepotolobat.com) a company dedicated to design, communication (products and services), and visual facilitation (Visual Thinking + Team Coaching). In addition, this company is part of the IFVP (International Federation of Visual Practitioners).

In this workshop, students were provided with the opportunity to choose from among the IBEX-35 companies, the organization that caused them the most interest and/or curiosity. Through group work, they graphically represented the "Strategy" section of the GRI 2020 report of each selected company.
